Am I Blessed?
I am so blessed. I’m not the kind of person who has a ton of friends. I don’t spend my weekends partying or going out to the club. I love to travel, but I seldom have the time or the money. For most of my life, I worked for the government, which I thoroughly did NOT enjoy. I now have my own business which I despise a great deal less. I’m no-where near rich. I enjoy lots of things other people don’t, such as going to the library, watching documentaries, and doing puzzles. On the contrary, I also like to get tattoos, go to concerts, and drink too much wine. I’m enigmatic. But there is one thing about me that is uncomplicated, simple, and straightforward.
I love my family.
These are my gifts from God. My life with them is uncomplicated, down-to-earth, free-flowing, and entertaining. To relax and be near them is my daily joy. They are the reason I know that God loves me. He didn’t give me riches or fame or a perfect body. But he did give me them. And what more could I have asked for? When life seems to be overwhelming and unbearable, I have my own slice of heaven called home. And my angels are always there for good conversation, and a great laugh.
If you really put things into perspective, what is a big house, without the people you care about being inside? What is traveling, if you can’t experience it with someone you love? What is money, if you have no one to bless with it? I have my family. Which means I have everything.
